Domestic Violence Unit detectives on St. Croix arrested 22-year-old Tyrone Petersen of Estate Sion Farm on Sunday for allegedly kidnapping and assaulting his girlfriend the same day.
According to the police report, the victim picked Petersen up at his house and attempted to break off the relationship. Petersen then allegedly assaulted her, took control of the vehicle and drove her to an unknown location on Sion Hill.
Petersen allegedly then forced the victim out of the vehicle, punched her in the face, and cut her left leg with a box cutter. After the assault, the victim drove to Estate St. Georges and left Petersen there.
Petersen was arrested shortly after 6 p.m. Sunday and charged with kidnapping domestic violence. Bail was denied for Petersen due to the domestic violence law, and he was remanded to the Golden Grove Adult Correctional Facility pending further court action.
