Man Shot and Injured in Gallows Bay

Criminal Investigation Bureau detectives from the V.I. Police Department are investigating a shooting in Gallows Bay that left one man injured Saturday.

Police were dispatched to investigate shots fired near the parking lot on Lobster Street in Gallows Bay, where they came across the injured man. According to police, the victim said he had purchased a plate of food and was returning to his vehicle when an unknown person came out from between some vehicles and fired at him, striking him in the lower body. The shooter then ran away.

The victim said the shooter then ran way. He was wearing a stocking mask over his face, and the victim had no further description of the suspect. Police recovered a 9 mm firearm from the scene. The weapon was turned over to Forensic technicians for testing.
