Brief: VIPD Identify Fatal Shooting Victim

V.I. Police Department officials have released the name of the victim in Friday’s fatal shooting on St. Croix. He was identified as 38-year-old Jefferie Ramos of Estate Two Brothers in Frederiksted. Ramos was shot by unknown assailants not far from his home.

Officers responded to a call of shots fired, and when they arrived on the scene, they saw Ramos on the ground a few feet away from his home. Emergency medical technicians on the scene said the victim showed no signs of life. Ramos was taken to Gov. Juan F. Luis Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
