Montessori School Holds Rugby Championship Games

At VI Montessori School and International Academy (VIMSIA) their 7th and 8th graders have been studying the sport of rugby and will exhibit their talent at 9 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 28, on VIMSIA’s soccer field. Eighth graders will be divided into three teams representing Ireland, Scotland and Wales. These three teams will compete for the glory of being crowned VIMSIA Rugby Champions of 2011.
Since its inception two years ago the 8th graders have shown some amazing skills in this sport. Seventh graders were assigned the task of creating a rugby guide for beginners and the 8th graders created a video which they then uploaded to U-tube. The video includes rules, drills, tactics and training exercises for various positions. Not only is the video quite informative but also very entertaining (having Napoleon and Sir Issac Newton explaining the rules is quite unique). This sport event is opened to the community. All are welcome to come and watch and learn about this wonderful sport and see it in full motion.
