VIUCEDD Has Annual ‘Voices that Count’ Conference

The Virgin Islands University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (VIUCEDD) will be hosting the eighth annual “Voices That Count” Conference. It will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 2, at the Administrative and Conference Center at UVI on St. Thomas. It will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 3, at Great Hall at UVI St. Croix.
This event brings individuals with disabilities and their family members, service providers, advocates and public officials together to discuss issues that affect people with disabilities. The conference will feature a keynote address. Local officials will address territorial emergency and disaster preparedness, and the afternoon session will feature legislative updates from local senators.
There is no fee for the event but space is limited on both islands. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. Register on-line at viucedd.org tab, call 692-4267 on St. Croix and 776-9200 ext. 2334 on St. Thomas.
