Brief: WAPA, Energy Office to Distribute Energy-Saving Bulbs

In recognition of Customer Appreciation and V.I. Energy Awareness Month, the V.I. Water and Power Authority, in partnership with the V.I. Energy Office, will host a series of outreach events in October, according to a WAPA release issued Tuesday.

WAPA and Energy Office personnel will share conservation and energy-efficiency tips and information about available programs such as the weatherization assistance program (WAP) for the elderly, disabled, and low-income; as well as the renewables rebate program. Energy-saving compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs) will also be distributed.

The outreach dates are as follows:
• Wednesday, Oct. 12: St. Croix WAPA Administration Building, Sunny Isle, 8:30 a.m.–3 p.m.
• Tuesday, Oct. 18: St. John WAPA Office, The Marketplace, 8:30 a.m.–3 p.m.
• Friday, Oct. 21: St. Thomas WAPA Administration Building, Subbase, 8:30 a.m.–3 p.m.

Residents are encouraged to come out and learn more about the initiatives in progress and ways to save on electrical and/or water bills.
