Woman Charged with Fiery Assault with Gasoline

St. Croix police arrested 31-year-old Donna J. Webbe and charged her with arson and assault second-degree domestic violence on Friday for allegedly burning a man with gasoline in the Paradise Mills housing community.

According to the police report, the 25-year-old victim had been arguing for some time with his girlfriend, Webbe, who is also known as “Baby D,” and she threatened to set the victim’s clothes on fire.

Webbe allegedly had a container of gasoline and a lighter, and when the victim attempted to grab the container, he was splashed with gasoline. According to police, Webbe admitted to striking the lighter and starting the fire.

The victim was taken to the Gov. Juan F. Luis Hospital and Medical Center for treatment.

Domestic Violence Unit detectives continue to investigate this case and interview witnesses. Webbe was held without bail pending further court action.
