Animal Welfare Center Hosts Oktoberfest Fundraiser

Join the St. Croix Animal Welfare Center for a Bavarian-style fundraiser to help neglected and homeless pets of St. Croix. From 4-9 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 2, at the Agriculture Fairgrounds east gate entrance area will be transformed into a German biergarten. German food specialties and imported draft from Deutchland will be served in keepsake steins. Traditional oompah music from Santa Cruz brass band will provide guests with the chance to polka the night away.
Tickets are $50 per person in advance and available at Undercover Books, A Better Copy, Trends and Polly’s at the Pier. Tickets are $65 per person at the gate the day of the event. All proceeds will benefit AWC.
“We sincerely hope that St. Croix will come out and support this event since fundraising is extremely important to us at this time given the tough economic times,” said executive director, Gretchen Sherrill.
