Human Services Opens Shelters for Tropical Storm Maria

Human Services and the American Red Cross will open the following shelters at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 10, in expectation of Tropical Storm Maria, according to a press release issued Friday by the Department of Human Services.
St. Thomas: Sugar Estate Head Start Building, 1st Avenue
St. Croix: St. Croix Educational Complex gymnasium
St. John: Julius Sprauve School in Cruz Bay
Services for persons with special medical needs will be provided 8 a.m. on Saturday at the Sugar Estate Head Start building on St. Thomas and the Charles Harwood Medical Complex on St. Croix.
Persons are reminded to bring personal items, snacks, toiletries, and toys for children for at least a 24-hour period.
