Gene K. Emanuel Dies at 69

Gene K. Emanuel died on July 28 at his residence. He was 69 years old.
He is survived by his spouse, Mary Watkins Emanuel; daughters: Kebra, Kami and Ama; sons: Khenna and Khary; grandchildren: Akira, Talaya, Nava, Jelonie, Amaya, Amari and Zoe; son-in-law, William Autry; sisters: Eleuteria "Terry" Roberts and Lynelle S. Emanuel; brother, Percival Sewer; sisters-in-law: Ethel Sewer, Lucinda Hundley and Aubrey Watkins; brothers-in-law: Carlos Christian Sr. and Herbert Watkins; nieces: Janice, Denise and Yvette Sewer, Ivory, Julia, Valerie and Lucinda; nephews: Anthony, Enrique, Kumalo, Senghor, Lestor Jr., Malcom, Lance, Gregory, Michael, Larry, Tara and Tyrone; aunt, Glenna Emanuel; special friends: his students, Sele Adeyemi, Dr. Gilbert Sprauve, Stanley Jacobs, Peter Ottley, Rudy Krieger, Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity, Bradley Christian, Lorraine Gibbs and Carol Henneman; cousins and other relatives: Antonio Emanuel, Stanley and Lawrence Perry, and the Walcott, Adams, Gerard, Thompson, Francis, Ferdinand and Clark families; as well as other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
There will be a viewing at 9 a.m. and a funeral service at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 10, at the Lord God of Sabaoth Lutheran. Interment will follow at the Kingshill Cemetery.
