St. Croix police are investigating the death of an adult Caucasian male who was found floating in a swimming pool at a restaurant located in Estate Golden Rock in Christiansted.
Police did not release the name of the victim, and only described hi as an adult Caucasian male.
Dispatchers at the 911 center alerted police of the incident shortly after 6 a.m. Thursday. When officers arrived on the scene they found the victim floating in the pool. An ambulance arrived on the scene and the victim was later pronounced dead by medical personnel.
A witness told the Source he stepped out on his nearby balcony and saw rescue vehicles and police working on the victim. The witness said by the time he saw it, the victim was out of the pool, lying on his back, dressed in shorts, with no shirt.
Police said a burglar alarm had gone off at 3:46 a.m. at the same location. Police responded and found there was no evidence of a break-in.
Members of the Criminal Investigation and Major Crimes Bureau are actively investigating this case.
