Lisa Wynne-Magnuson Represents USVI at Mrs. United States Pageant

Mrs. U.S. Virgin Islands, Lisa Wynne-Magnuson
Mrs. U.S. Virgin Islands, Lisa Wynne-Magnuson, will be competing in the 25th anniversary celebration of the Mrs. United States pageant scheduled to be held July 31 – Aug. 4. She was crowned on May 29, on St. Thomas after edging out four other competitors from St. Thomas and St. Croix.
No stranger to pageantry, Magnuson is a former Miss University of the Virgin Islands, Miss U.S. Virgin Islands Universe 2001, and Miss Universe Contestant in 2001. As Miss UVI, she went on to compete in the Miss Historically Black College and University Pageant, where she placed first runner-up out of nearly 100 contestants.
She will be competing against 53 other contestants representing every state and territory at the Mrs. United States competition. She will be judged in personal interview, swimsuit, and evening wear segments during the preliminaries, which take place on Aug. 2 and Aug. 3. Her scores during the preliminaries determine her fate in the finals, which will take place on Aug. 4, when the top 15 will continue on in the competition.
As part of the 25th anniversary celebration, she will also participate in the costume presentation, where each contestant wears attire that represents her state or territory. She will return to the territory on Aug. 5 to continue work as an elementary school teacher and duties as Mrs. USVI, which consists of
volunteering with Kidscope Inc. and other organizations.
