Meeting on St. Croix East End Watersheds Planning Project Set

The next public meeting for the St. Croix East End Watersheds Planning project will be held from 6-7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 26, at the St. Croix Yacht Club. Key discussion topics will include a review of findings from field assessments and preliminary pollutant load estimates. The purpose of the meeting will be to collectively establish watershed priorities and management goals for the watershed plan. The public is invited to share which goals they think are the most important and offer suggestions for implementing projects to meet those goals. Be sure to read the executive summary and section 9.0 of the draft existing conditions report prior to the meeting, which can be downloaded at www.horsleywitten.com/stx-east-end-watersheds/index.html.
The meeting agenda is subject to change, but will likely include:
· (20 min) presentation on the key findings during watershed assessment
· (20 min) questions/answer
· (20 min) group brainstorm to develop watershed goals and objectives
· (20 min) group brainstorm on project ranking and prioritization
· (10 min) next steps for watershed plan and implementation
As before, this public meeting has been arranged to discuss this watershed planning effort only; therefore, it is respectfully requested that other topics (regardless of importance) be left at the door so everyone’s time can be more efficiently spent on the topic at hand.
