DOL Holds Rapid Response Session for Employees of Triangle Construction

All former employees of Triangle Construction & Maintenance Inc. are informed that a rapid response session will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, July 1, at the University of the Virgin Islands Great Hall, according to a press release from Labor Commissioner Albert Bryan Jr.
“Rapid Response is an outplacement program designed to respond to major layoffs and plant closings by coordinating services and providing immediate aid to the affected workers during this difficult time. Rapid Response team members are experienced in assisting workers cope with change and will begin to gather information on your needs and begin to organize the services necessary to help you get back to work,” said Commissioner Bryan.
The Rapid Response team consists of individuals from various government agencies that collaborate when notices of closing and layoffs are received by the Department of Labor. Rapid response teams will provide the employees with information and services including explanation and filing for unemployment insurance benefit, retraining and development of new skills, emergency assistance, housing assistance, resume preparation, child support, healthcare, COBRA, veteran assistance and Labor Relations information.
Each attendee is asked to come with his or her picture ID, proof of citizenship, layoff letter, social security card, and last two paycheck stubs. For additional information, contact Ms. Prudence Tuitt, Rapid Response Coordinator at 773-1440.
