Man Arrested, Charged With Assault

Alphonso E. Queeley, a 41-year-old resident of Hospital Ground, was arrested Saturday and charged with third-degree assault after police on St. Thomas said he stabbed a man several times following a fight in Red Hook.

The victim told police he was in his truck in the Red Hook parking lot when the suspect, later identified as Queeley, began hitting his truck with a bag. The victim told Queeley to stop and they both began to struggle and the victim was stabbed several times with an unknown object.

The victim was transported to the Roy Lester Schneider Regional Medical Center, where he was treated and released.

Queeley was arrested at about 8:30 p.m. Saturday. Bail was set at $25,000, which he was unable to post. He was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending further court action.
