Man Treated For Stab Wounds After Fight

A man was treated at Schneider Regional Medical Center for stab wounds to the upper body after he and another man engaged in a fight Tuesday near Brookman Road, according to the V.I. Police Department.

The victim told police he was inside the laundromat watching television when the suspect approached him and slapped him. The victim said he walked away to avoid further confrontation, but the suspect followed him, hit him again and they began to fight.

During the fight, the suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim, the police said.

Police are urging anyone who may have been in the area or knows anything about the assault to contact the Criminal Investigation Bureau detectives at 714-9844 or 714-9805, or the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers USVI, at 1-800-222-TIPS.
