Updated: Police Investigating Friday Night Homicide

Police on St. Thomas are investigating a shooting in which a man was killed Friday night in Estate Mandahl, but releasing no information about the victim or the nature of the homicide. .

As of this writing police had not released any details on the case, including the time. However, the individual who called the shooting into 911 said it happened around 10 p.m.
Though police have not released the victim’s name scores of phone calls and emails came into the Source on Saturday identifying the victim as Sean M. O’Connell, director of operations for a construction management company.

VIPD spokeswoman Melody Rames said Saturday morning that St. Thomas/St. John District Police Chief Rodney F. Querrard Sr. was assembling the information from police reports and a statement would be issued later in the day. As of 8 p.m. no additional information had been released and calls to various police officials had not been returned.

It is the 11th homicide in the territory since the first of the year, the fifth on St. Thomas.
