DOL Announces LIFT Internships for College Students

The Department of Labor is accepting applications for the Labor Investing for Tomorrow (LIFT) summer internship program, according to a press release from DOL. Now in its 22nd year, the LIFT program continues to provide college juniors, seniors and graduate students with meaningful work and internship experience in their chosen career field. Interns may also gain college credits during the program. Eligibility criteria are as follows: Interns must presently be a college junior, senior or a graduate student; must have a minimum GPA of 2.80 on a 4.00 scale; and must be between the ages of 18 – 25. The application deadline is April 8.
Interested students may pick up applications at the DOL offices located at 2353 Kronprindsens Gade, on St. Thomas or at 16AB Church Street, Christiansted, on St. Croix. LIFT applications are also available at www.vidol.gov. Completed applications should be returned to: Arah C. Lockhart, Assistant Commissioner of Employment and Training, V.I. Department of Labor, P. O. Box 302608 – Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas, VI 00803-2608.
