The historic Hebrew Congregation of St. Thomas will hold its 12th annual Antiques, Art and Collectibles Auction at noon on Sunday, Feb. 13, at Antilles School’s MCM Center.
Doors will open at 10 a.m. for a preview of live and silent auction items. "Flea market" sale tables will open at 10 a.m. Silent auction bidding starts at 11 a.m., with tables closing every 45 minutes starting at 1 p.m. The live auction will start at noon.
This year’s live auction will feature about 35 items, with antique West Indian furniture taking center stage along with great getaways (Napa Valley, Breckenridge, Colorado, Asheville, NYC, Maine, etc.) and fun-filled packages (salsa and mojito party, couples massage, cooking class, dinners, wine). The silent auction will have more than 150 collectibles, getaways, gift certificates for food and services, art and — for the first time — furniture.
Proceeds from the auction help maintain the 178-year-old synagogue building, a National Historic Monument, and keep it open to some 10,000 visitors each year.
