Missing Runaway Found Murdered In Frederiksted

A 16-year-old boy became the territory’s seventh homicide victim of the year, the third on St. Croix, when his body was discovered Monday in Estate Two Brothers in Frederiksted.

Police reported Monday evening that the boy, whose name has not been released pending notification of his family, was reported as a runaway early in January.

A citizen called 911 emergency dispatch and reported the body, which was inside of a church building under construction. Police arrived on the scene at about 5 p.m. along with medical personnel who pronounced the victim dead.

According to police the body had signs of “obvious trauma.”

Police have classified this incident as a murder and are following all leads in this case. Anyone who knows anything about the case or who might have seen the boy in the last few days can contribute to solving his murder by calling detectives at 712-6077, 712-6037, or the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers USVI, at 1-800-222-TIPS.
