Police Investigate Palm Gardens Homicide

Police on St. Thomas are investigating the fatal shooting of a man residing in Palm Gardens Apartments, the fourth homicide on St. Thomas since the start of the year, and the fifth of the year in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Officers notified by 911 emergency dispatchers arrived on the scene minutes before 10:30 p.m. Wednesday and found the victim. Preliminary investigation indicated he had been in the apartment complex parking lot when he was shot by an unknown suspect or suspects.

Police have not released the name or age of the victim pending notification of his next of kin.

Detectives investigating the case ask that anyone who knows anything about the crime or has any information that can help the police to call the Criminal Investigation Bureau detectives at 715-5522, 714-9834, the Major Crime Bureau detectives at 715-5545 or the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers USVI, at 1-800-222-TIPS.
