School of Visual Arts and Careers Exhibits Student Works

The students of the School of Visual Arts and Careers will hold their annual exhibit. The opening reception will be held from 3-5 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 16, at the Reichhold Center Art Gallery. There will be an art exhibit and refreshments as well as a short meeting.
This exhibit represents the artwork of students who consistently attended SVAC in 2010. There are approximately 30 pieces of art in the exhibit in a variety of media, and some big surprises. Many of the artworks will be for sale.
The School of Visual Arts and Careers is an after-school and summer program for artistically talented junior and senior high school students. Students receive training in visual arts and related careers, in artistic technique as well as career exploration. Artists in the community become involved through guest workshops and sponsoring student interns. The program was established in 1983; our many graduates are attending art colleges or are working in careers in the arts.
The students in this exhibit include: Jade Barber, Mia Carty, Vakai Gumbs, Jasmine Lindquist and Krystal Singh.

The School of Visual Arts and Careers exhibit will be open from early January through February 2011. For more information about the program, contact director Phebe Schwartz at 775-2739
