Two St. Thomas men were arrested in separate incidents over the weekend and face charges of domestic violence, according to a report from the V.I. Police Department.
Aaron Renault, 38, was arrested around 5:30 a.m. Saturday and charged with aggravated assault and battery domestic violence for threatening and assaulting a 37-year-old woman with whom he had a romantic relationship.
The victim was punched several times, police said, resulting in a bruise on her lower lip and minor cuts on her arms and shoulders. The incident happened at an Estate Thomas residence.
In the second incident, Ronald Christopher, 24, was arrested around 3:40 a.m. Friday and charged with aggravated assault and battery domestic violence for assaulting a 22-year-old woman with whom he was involved in a romantic relationship.
The victim said she saw Christopher sitting on the stairs of her Estate Anna’s Retreat residence. When she approached him, he grabbed her by the throat and punched her several times, resulting in a bruise on her inner right thigh and cut on her lower lip.
Bail for both suspects was denied due to the domestic charges and they were remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending further court action.
