Brief: VIPD Identify Thursday's Homicide Victim

St. Croix Police on Monday identified the island’s first homicide victim of 2011 as 27-year-old Karisha Ramkissoon of the Mutual Homes housing community.

According to police, Ramkissoon was exiting his vehicle near his home in the housing community Thursday when he was shot by one or more suspects, who fled the scene after the shooting.

Criminal Investigation Bureau detectives are investigating the murder and ask anyone with information on this case to call detectives at 712-6075, 712-6077, 712-6037 or the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers USVI, at 1-800-222-TIPS.
