Party for the Animals Set for Jan. 8

The holiday season continues with the Animal Care Center of St. John’s Wild Party for the Animals. Set for 6 p.m. until about 9:30 p.m. Jan. 8 at the Hall home in Chocolate Hole, tickets for the event are $100 each in advance and $125 at the door.

“It will help our shelter continue its good works,” Animal Care Center President Diana Ripley said.

Those projects include a spay and neuter program for feral cats and dogs, care of abandoned and rescued animals, shelter operation, and an educational program at the island’s schools.

Dress is island fancy – a cocktail dress and sandals will do. Ripley suggested that if you have clothes in animal prints to wear them.

“Jungle formal,” she called it.

Park at the Westin Resort and Villas on the villa side of the property for complimentary transportation to the Hall home, Ripley said.

The Party for the Animals includes food supplied by several of St. John’s caterers as well as music and dancing.

In addition, the evening includes a raffle with prizes that include a week at the St. John villa Estate Rose, a pet portrait by Livy Hitchcock, a dine-around package that includes dinners at Ocean Grill, Happy Fish, Zozo’s Ristorante, and Asolare, professional services by attorney Kathy Dupree, jewelry from Michael Banzhaf Studio, and a three-course catered dinner with wine by Mathayom Private Chefs. The grand prize is a two-night stay with breakfast at Biras Creek on Virgin Gorda.

A special raffle will be held for a full day sail aboard Southern Hospitality.

A silent auction will be held for a week’s stay at the Lodge at Wild Creek in Estes Park, Col.

Tickets are available from Ripley and at the Animal Care Center, Catered To, Connections, St. John Hardware and the Nest.
