Joseph L. Samuel Dies at 74

Joseph L. Samuel of Mars Hill died on Dec. 16 at his residence. He was 74 years old.
He is survived by his spouse: Mercedes P. Samuel; daughters: Kimberly C. and Nicole G.M. Samuel; sons: Marvin A. and Gregory E. Samuel; grandchildren: Rakeem S. and Raheem S. Samuel, and Liniqua L. Lindquist; sister, Raphaela Albany; brother: Evance Heyliger; nieces: Donna Dennehy, Faith Andrews- Javois, Michelle Albany-Crispin, Tawana and Jordan Albany, Lorna, Donna and Pamela Samuel, Edna Samuel-Henry and Mary Samuel-Croome; and nephews: Dean Andrews, Evance Jr., Victor, Sean and Kaleb Heyliger, and Michael and Daniel Samuel.
He is also survived by great nieces: Sydney, Skyler and Sterling Patois; great nephews: Joshua and Jacob Andres, Sebastian Jatois and Ashton Heyliger; sisters-in-law: Doreen Pemberton, Veronica Frorup, Winifred Encarnacion and Josephine Springer; brothers-in-law: Raymond, Lawrence and Claudius Petersen, and Frank Albany; special friends: Earl Charles, Jasmine Hanley and Gwenderlyn Lucas; cousins and other relatives: the Lang, Williams, Barry, Bryan, Messer, Allick and Braffith families, Rotary West and the V.I. Little Family; as well as other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
There will be a viewing at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 30 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Interment will be at Frederiksted Cemetery.
