We From Upstreet Celebrates With Two Nights of Music and Christmas Joy

We From Upstreet Inc. (WEFUS) will be celebrating its 15th anniversary and holding its annual Christmas Tree Lighting at the Franklin D. Roosevelt Virgin Islands Veterans Memorial Park. This year the honorees are Edward Thomas, WEFUS former resident/member and president/CEO of the West Indian Company, and Hillis Lewis-Edelen, former resident and founding member of We From Upstreet Inc.

The dates of the events are as follows:
Monday, Dec. 13, from 6-9 p.m.
Cultural Night with church and community choirs, including the Voices of Love and Party Hardie Carolers, solo artists, the St. Thomas Heritage Dancers, Mungo Niles Cultural Dancers and Milo’s Kings. There will be traditional Christmas treats provided; drinks will be on sale. Please, don’t forget to bring your chairs.
Tuesday Dec.14, from 6-9 p.m.
Nostalgia, Caribbean Fusion and Jazz Night with the newly formed Virgin Islands Youth Jazz Ensemble (founded by educator/drummer Dion Parson), the Barefoot Davis Band, Ras-Abijah and Cliff Finch and Friends, invited vocalists: Lorna Freeman-Dennis, Cherise and Gwen Creque, Yvette Finch, Richard “Mousie” Howard and other artists who will entertain throughout the evening. Food and drinks will be on sale. Please, don’t forget to bring your chairs.
