Lieutenant Governor Gregory R. Francis is out of the territory while he attends the executive committee meeting of the National Lieutenant Governors Association (NLGA) in Omaha, Nebraska. The conference will host incumbent and newly-elected officials from throughout the U.S. mainland and territories from Dec. 1-3.
While at the meeting, Lt. Gov. Francis will participate in workshops discussing the impact of federal legislation on the states and territories with regards to education, highways and older Americans, and covering topics such as emergency preparedness and homeland security. Participation in NLGA provides members the opportunity to network, foster interstate cooperation and share best practices.
Francis serves on the executive committee in the Democratic position for the East Region-at-Large. He represents the region comprised of Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont and the Virgin Islands.
