Police on St. John Investigate Non-Fatal Shooting

A shooting incident Sunday night in the Pine Peace area in Cruz Bay left one man injured, the V.I. Police Department reported.

According to police, at about 8:50 p.m. Sunday officers were advised of a male shooting victim at the Myrah Keating Smith Community Health Center. The victim told police he was arguing with a male suspect, and during the argument, the suspect pointed a handgun and began shooting at him.

The victim was injured in his lower left abdomen and was grazed by a bullet from his right temple to his right earlobe. Police did not release the name of the victim.

Police urge anyone having information on this case to contact the Criminal Investigation Bureau detectives at 714-9801, 715-5516, or the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers USVI, at 1-800-222-TIPS.
