Martin Joseph Dies in Florida

Martin Joseph

Martin Joseph of St. Croix, Virgin Islands passed away peacefully on Saturday, Nov. 20, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He was 45 years old. Martin was born of his mother, Daphne Charles Nicholas, and his father, the late Francis Joseph. He is survived by his loving wife, Lina Mathurin Joseph; sisters: Greta Louis (Canada), Yolande Browne and Joya Joseph; brother, Michael Smith; and uncles: Nelson Henry (England), Gilbert Bondieumaitre (St. Lucia), Renee Ramirez (Canada), Blaze Bondiemaitre (St. Lucia), Magnus Isaac (St. Lucia) and Peter Isaac (St. Lucia).

He is also survived by aunts: Harriette Colymore (St. Lucia), Rebecca Smith (St. Lucia), Helena Geraudy (St. Lucia), Letisha Isaac (St. Lucia), Vena Isaac (Canada), Linda Isaac (Canada) and Celia Noel (St. Lucia); nephews: Neil Julian (Canada), Erick Louis (Canada), Elywn Charles Browne (Florida), Gian Mathurin and Lamar Mathurin (Florida); nieces: Keisha Louis (Canada), Kyela Allen, Gianna Mathurin, Jirah Mathurin and Zory Mathurin; mother-in-law, Madeliene Mathurin; father-in- law, William Mathurin; brothers-in-law: Dillwyn Mathurin, Yarziah Reeves, Jim Mathurin, Melvin Mathurin, Jeremy Mathurin and Roderick Louis (Canada); sisters-in-law: Joanne Mathurin, Cindy Mathurin (New Jersey), Deborahya Mathurin (Pennsylvania) and Gelani Mathurin; stepfather, Charles Nicholas; stepmother, Martha Jean-Pierre; step brothers: Deanny Jean-Pierre and Dean Jean Pierre.
Special friends include: Peter Phillip and family, Conrad Maynes, Marjorie Hill and family, Larry Hill, Kenrick Mottley, Tyrone Joseph and family, and Mr. and Mrs. Dalson Maxius; as well as other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
Funeral Services will take place at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 27, at Fred Hunter’s Funeral Service, 6301 Taft Street, Hollywood, Florida 33024. A special memorial service will occur on St. Croix at a later date.
