Schools, Government Offices on St. Croix Close Early Due to Storm

Public schools across St. Croix closed at 1 p.m. Wednesday because of severe weather conditions that led to some flooding at schools. Government offices on St. Croix closed early as well.

St. Croix District Superintendent Gary Molloy said bus transportation was available for students using the service and that parents were asked to make an extra effort to have their children picked up as well. All school-based personnel were to be dismissed following an all clear of students from campuses.

The dismissal affected only St. Croix public schools.

Non-essential government employees on St. Croix were sent home at 2 p.m., according to a release from Government House.
