V.I. National Park Honors Vets with Fee-Free Day

All visitors to the V.I. National Park’s Trunk Bay Beach on St. John will be admitted free Thursday in honor of Veterans Day, Park Superintendent Mark Hardgrove announced Monday.
“This day recognizes the sacrifice and service all who served in the military have made for our country, and for that we are grateful,” Hardgrove said.
Trunk Bay Beach is one of the most visited beaches on St. John, and is home to an underwater trail where swimmers are able to snorkel over the reef and read the plaques, which identify coral and fish below.
Hardgrove encouraged visitors to Trunk Bay Beach during the Veterans Day weekend to ride safari taxis or carpool in order to avoid overcrowding in the Trunk Bay parking lot.
