The Caribbean Genealogy Library Inc. (CGL) is offering a free Genealogy Workshop for Beginners at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 2, at the Caribbean Genealogy Library, (Al Cohen’s Plaza on Raphune Hill, across from Randy’s Restaurant and next to Mango Tango Art Gallery). The workshop is open to all community members interested in learning how to get started tracing and documenting family history. Participants need not be a member of the CGL in order to attend. Reservations are suggested as participation is limited.
Some of the topics to be covered include: charting your family, Virgin Islands census records, Virgin Islands church records, Internet resources (including Ancestry.com), and an overview of other family and cultural resources available at CGL.

The Caribbean Genealogy Library is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2000. CGL’s mission is to identify, preserve and provide access to Caribbean genealogy, history and cultural heritage information resources and to promote and encourage their use for family history documentation, education and scholarship. CGL is funded through its membership fees and tax-exempt contributions.
