Maxine Rodine Bennerson-McCloud Dies at 45

Maxine Rodine Bennerson-McCloud, also known as “Big Max," of LBJ Gardens died on Thursday, Sept. 2. She was 45 years old.

She is survived by her husband, Josephus McCloud; mother, Gwendolyn E. Samuel; father, Eugene Bennerson Jr.; daughters: Jahmeakah Gumbs and Shanique Byant; sons: Ahundraye Bennerson and John Handford; four grandchildren; sisters: Kimba Samuel, Kellisa K. Daniel, Kene’yah Paxton, Gwendolyn Samuel-Rivera, Darrette Serrano, Brigette and Tynana Bennerson; and brothers: Eugene Jr. and Eugene Bennerson III. She is also survived by five nieces; three nephews; aunts: Helen Stanley, Mable Marcus, Avril and Brenda Bennerson and Ethany Samuel; uncles: Herman Marcus, Reginald and Eric Samuel; godparents: Cheryl and Fernando Soto; cousins: Joy, Carol, Linda, Betty Elizabeth, Helen, Mable and Anderson Jr. Stanley, Iris and Bernard Christian, Eric Jr., Hermina and Herman Marcus, Aubrey, Michelle and Monique Samuel; special friends: Marva Hodge, Leatha and Corrine Williams; and other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
A funeral service will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 16, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Christiansted. Interment will follow at Kingshill Cemetery.
