Gun-Owning Neighbor Helps Foil Early Morning Robbery

Police on St. Thomas are investigating a first-degree robbery that occurred early Friday, Aug. 27, in Estate Smith Bay.
According to the police report, the victim was returning home at 1 a.m. when he was approached by three men wearing dark clothing.
The men, armed with a handgun and stun gun, began to fight with the victim, and the victim was shocked on his neck by the stun gun.
An area homeowner, who also had a firearm, attempted to help the victim and several shots were exchanged.
The suspects fled the area on foot, and the victim refused to seek medical attention.
The homeowner’s gun was temporarily confiscated for forensic testing. No injuries were reported.
