Police Investigating Three Weekend Incidents

St. Croix Police are investigating three weekend incidents.

• A second-degree assault was reported at about 12:37 p.m. Sunday. Police said a man told police he injured a 51-year-old male with a machete during a fight. The incident occurred in the Estate Contentment area.

• A case of first-degree reckless endangerment occurred at about 5:18 a.m. Sunday near the Altoona Lagoon area in Christiansted. Police said three male suspects fired approximately six shots at a 21-year-old male victim fleeing the area. The victim was shot once in his upper left thigh before he swam in the ocean to escape the assailants.
The victim was transported by private vehicle to Gov. Juan F. Luis Hospital for treatment.
The suspects are described as Hispanic with a light complexion and ranging between 5 feet, 7 inches to 6 feet tall. One suspect wears his shoulder-length hair in braids and has a moustache; the other suspect has curly, shoulder-length, black hair and a brown beard. The third suspect has a slim build, long black hair, moustache and a beard.

• Police are investigating a first-degree burglary that occurred at an Estate Sierra Verde residence in Cotton Valley.
The burglary victim, a 62-year-old male, told police that at about 9:20 p.m. Saturday two unknown male suspects wearing black clothing took his vehicle and cash. The victim said as he arrived home the suspects, armed with a club and handgun, approached him from behind, demanded money and gained entry into his home. The suspects fled the area in his vehicle once they realized occupants were inside the residence.
