Roommate Assaulted in Domestic Violence Case

Dominica native Shalyne E. Joseph, 25, of Estate Charlotte Amalie was arrested by police on St. Thomas and charged for assaulting a roommate.

According to the initial report Joseph was arrested 8 a.m. Friday. Police said Joseph and the 23-year-old female victim were arguing at their apartment when she hit her several times with a broomstick.

The victim was injured on her left shoulder, upper back, neck and left hand. She was transported to the Roy Lester Schneider Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Joseph was charged with third-degree assault – domestic violence. Because of the domestic violence charge she was held without bail, pending further court action.
