Brief: New Hours Set for Sen. Berry to Lie in State

Former Sen. Lorraine Berry will lie in state in the Earle B. Ottley Legislative Hall at the Senate Building from noon to 7 p.m. Friday, July 30.
Senate President Louis Patrick Hill said Tuesday evening that the hours had been adjusted from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to allow the working public to be able to attend.
Berry, 60, died July 19 after an almost yearlong battle with cancer.
Services for the 12-term senator will be held at 10 a.m. July 31 at Ss. Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Cathedral on St. Thomas, following a musical prelude at 9 a.m. Burial will follow at the Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery in Estate Mafolie.
