Golden Grove Inmate Re-Arrested in Second Shooting

Rakem Hendrickson, an 18-year-old incarcerated at Golden Grove Correctional Facility, was re-arrested their and charged with a second shooting.

Criminal Investigation Bureau detectives on St. Croix charged Hendrickson with first-degree assault, first-degree reckless endangerment and possession of an unlicensed firearm in the commission of a crime of violence in connection with a shooting that occurred at 1:27 a.m. March 7 at the Sunny Isle Shopping Center.

According to medical officials the shooting victim was airlifted to Puerto Rico for treatment and is partially paralyzed.

Hedrickson is already in custody in connection with a shooting May 21 at the David C. Canegeta Ballpark in Christiansted. Three people were shot in that incident.

Hendrickson bail was set $100,000 and he was returned to Golden Grove pending his advice of rights hearing.
