Pistarckle Theater's Summer STARS Musical Camp Performs “The Wiz”

The Wiz is based on a retelling of L. Frank Baum’s “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.” In this version, Dorothy is a shy Harlem kindergarten teacher who, while searching for her lost dog Toto in a blizzard, is whisked to a wonderland. Her mission? Follow the yellow brick road to find the Wiz! While the book was originally written as a modern fairy tale in which the wonderment and joy are retained and the heartaches and nightmares are left out, the musical is an American story full of exciting adventures, unexpected difficulties and marvelous escapes.

Pistarckle Theater’s Summer STARS musical campers will perform at 10 a.m. on July 13, 14, 15 and 16; at 7 p.m. on July 16 and 17; at 2 p.m. on July 18. For discounted group tickets, call 775-7877. Single tickets for children are $10 and for adults, $15. There are also discounted tickets for groups of 20 or more. That would be $7 per kid and chaperons are free (up to four chaperons per group). For reservations call 775-7877.
