DLCA Releases Latest Gas Survey Prices

The Department of Licensing and Consumer Affairs (DLCA) notifies the public of its latest territory-wide gas price survey findings. The survey was completed on June 17 on St. Croix, and June 18 on St. Thomas and St. John. The survey is designed to inform consumers on which stations offer the best fuel prices. The latest wholesale price change reported to DLCA took effect on June 10, by Hovensa. Hovensa’s rack rate decreased by 29 cents per gallon for regular gasoline and 39 cents for premium. Diesel fuel also decreased by 23 cents per gallon.

DLCA Commissioner Wayne Biggs is pleased to see that most stations have adjusted their prices to pass on the savings to consumers. “Price decreases should be seen across the board at service stations throughout the territory. All retailers are expected to adjust prices to reflect the lower cost on all fuel types,” said Biggs.
St. Croix
On St. Croix, visible price decreases could be seen at select service stations. The following table indicates where consumers can find the best bargain for gasoline in the St. Croix District.
The best bargains:
Premium Full Service – 3.199 at La Reine Service Station
Regular Full Service – 3.099 at La Reine Service Station
Premium Self Service – 2.799 at Five Corners Service Station
Regular Self Service – 2.719 at Everybody’s Service Station
Diesel fuel – 2.899 at Amigos Service Station and Choice Service Station
The highest prices found on St. Croix for full-service gasoline were $4.55 for premium and $4.35 for regular. The highest prices for self-service gasoline were $2.99 for premium and $2.99 for regular. The highest price for diesel fuel was $3.39 per gallon.
St. Thomas
On St. Thomas, prices remained unchanged on all fuel types. The following table indicates where consumers can find the best bargain in the St. Thomas District.
The best bargains:
Premium Full Service – 3.669 at Texaco (Smith Bay)
Regular Full Service – 3.469 at Texaco (Smith Bay)
Premium Self Service – 3.499 at One Stop (Sugar Estate), Race Track (Sugar Estate) and
Giant Gas (Mandela Circle)
Regular Self Service – 3.399 at One Stop (Sugar Estate), Race Track (Sugar Estate),
Giant Gas (Mandela Circle) and Texaco (Airport)
Diesel fuel – 3.599 at Giant Gas (Mandela Circle)
The highest prices found on St. Thomas for full-service gasoline were $3.89 for premium and $3.74 for regular. The highest prices for self-service gasoline were $3.79 for premium and $3.69 for regular. The highest price offered for diesel fuel was $3.79.
St. John
On St. John, Domino Oil still remains out of fuel. Survey findings represent prices for E&C self-service station. Premium and diesel fuel remained unchanged, while regular fuel experienced a visible decrease from $3.56 to $3.32 per gallon.

Premium Self Service – 3.649 at E&C
Regular Self Service – 3.329 at E&C
Diesel fuel – 3.519 at E&C
