Beatrice Maria Adolphine James Emanuel Dies at 94

Beatrice Maria Adolphine James Emanuel of Anna’s Hope died on June 15 at her residence. She was 94 years old.

She is survived by her daughters: Eleuteria Terry Roberts and Lynelle Emanuel; adopted daughters: Rhonda Vanterpool and Eve Jeanette Schulterbrandt; sons: Percival Sewer and Gene K. Emanuel; grandchildren: Janice Westbrooks, Denise Ferguson, Anthony, Enrique Rico and Raymond Kumalo Sewer, Yvette Gaynor, Lester Jr., LeTerrance De Juan, Khenna, Khary, Kami and Ama Emanuel, Kebra Autry and Senghor Morgan; great-grandchildren: Alexander Westbrooks, Paul and Marc Moses, Crystal, Malik, Monique and Andrew Gaynor, Ashley, Kyla, Delany and Alexis Sewer, Amari Autry, Raven Noelle Morgan and Jordan Sewer; and three great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by daughters-in-law: Ethel Sewer and Mary Emanuel; son-in-law, Carlos F. Christian Sr.; sister-in-law, Glenna Emanuel; nephew-in-law, Antonio Emanuel; nieces: Eileen Young, Beverly and Ethlyn James; and cousins and other relatives: the Walcott, Adams, Thompson, Gerard, Francis, Clark, Ferdinand, Milligan, Begraff and Prince families, Juanita and Raymond Matthew, Chad Martinez, Geminese Johnson, Cherise Richards, David and Kevin Motta, and Kent O’Reilly. Other survivors include special friends: Rosemarie Joseph, Josephine Hector, Antonio and Alden Martinez, Gloria Gawrych, Lorraine Gibbs, Larry Finley, Kay Motta, Crimmie Anderson, Bernice Clendenin, Beatrice Wallace, Agalia Harrigan, Leola Carroll, Valarie Combie, George Shaka Edwards, Myron Danielson, American Legion Post No. 85 and Auxiliary members, Vargrave Richards, Robert and Carlotta Moorehead; as well as other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
There will be a viewing held at 9 a.m. and a funeral service at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 24, at the Lord God of Sabaoth Lutheran Church. Interment will follow at Kingshill Cemetery,Veterans Section.
