Participants in Hovensa’s President’s Golf Tournament Donate $18,000 to Local Charities

The Hovensa L.L.C. President’s 12th Annual Golf Tournament was held Saturday, June 12, at the Carambola Golf Club. One Hundred Eighty employees of Hovensa, its contractors and vendors competed in the tournament.

Members of the Hovensa’s Leadership Team (HLT), which is comprised of President and COO David Huffman and other leaders of the company, organized a team and challenged the other 44 teams for the better low net score. The teams that bettered or tied the score of the HLT team were able to designate a local non-profit organization of their choice to receive a $100 contribution from the company. As the result of this contest, Hovensa will make donations of a total of $18,000 to 15 non-profit organizations.
Following is a list of the organizations that will receive a donation:
American Cancer Society, St. Croix Unit
American Red Cross, V.I. Chapter
Boy Scouts of America, V.I. Council
Boys & Girls Club of the Virgin Islands
Caribbean Dance Company
Good Hope School
Lighthouse Mission
Queen Louise Home for Children
St. Croix American Youth Soccer Association Inc.
St. Croix Animal Welfare Center Inc.
St. Croix Country Day School
St. Croix Junior Golf Association
St. Croix Swimming Association
V.I. Olympics Committee
United Way of St. Croix
