Police Investigate Tide Village Shooting

St. Croix police are investigating a shooting that occurred just before 10 p.m. Saturday in Estate Tide Village, in the vicinity of the Tide Village Service Station.

The shooting victim, identified as a 29-year-old man, was shot at least one time to the upper body and was treated at the Gov. Juan F. Louis Hospital. Police did not release the victim’s name.

Police on routine patrol in the area spotted the injured man and called for medical assistance and additional officers. Emergency medical technicians arrived on the scene and transported the victim to the hospital.

Investigation and Forensic Detectives processed the scene for evidence.

The police are asking the community to come forward with any information regarding this shooting. Anyone who saw any suspicious people, cars or activity in the area or heard the shots can call Investigation Bureau detectives at 712-6077 or 712-6037, or the anonymous tip service Crime Stoppers USVI at 1-800-222-TIPS.
