Elmo Plaskett Little League East Weekend Wrap-Up

Yankees pitcher Rasheede Knight shut the door on the Suns in Sunday's nightcap.The Elmo Plaskett Little League East wrapped up its weekend action on Sunday with two games played in the 10-12 Division. In game one, the Expos edged the Reds 6-5, and the Yankees rallied late to beat the Suns 10-6.

In game one on Sunday, although outhit eight to six, the Expos were able to edge the Reds 6-5 in a matchup of two of the league’s top two teams. It was the Expos with six runs on six hits and two errors, while the Reds had five runs on eight hits while committing three errors.
The winning pitcher was Jordan Ramos, and Jackson Reidlinger got the loss. Top batters for the winners were Rey Rodriguez (2 for 3 with two RBIs) and Chamoy Chandler (2 for 3 with one RBI). For the Reds, Sergio Santiago was 2 for 3 with one RBI, and Blake Carter was 1 for 2 with one RBI.

Yankees 10, Suns 6
The Yankees rallied for five runs in the bottom of the fifth inning in Sunday’s late game to beat the Suns 10-6. The Yankees came into the inning trailing 6-5 but rallied with some timely hitting along with some untimely errors by the Suns. It was the Yankees with 10 runs on nine hits and two errors, while the Suns finished with six runs on seven hits and four errors.
Rasheede Knight got the win on the hill for the Yankees, while Kimoi Ferdinand got the loss. Top batters for the Yanks were Luis Pula (3 for 3 with two RBIs) and Andre Belardo (2 for 3 with one RBI). For the Suns, Shahid Cobb was 2 for 3 with two RBIs, and Akido Lindquist was 2 for 3 with one RBI.

In Friday night’s action, the Dodgers whipped the Angels 11-4 behind a no-hit effort by Dionte Brooks. The Angels, however, were able to score four runs on some miscues by the winners. The Dodgers finished with 11 runs on 12 hits. The winning pitcher was Dionte Brooks, while Akeem Gerard got the loss for the Angels. Top batter for the Dodgers was Brooks (2 for 3 with a home run and two RBIs).

In Saturday’s action, the Suns and the Reds played to a 9-9 draw in a 10-12 Division contest, while the Reds got the best of the Lil’ Angels, 14-13, in a 7-9 Division game.
