Service at the popular cafeteria at the Roy Lester Schneider Hospital will continue during renovations, which begin on April 26, but with an adjusted schedule and take-out menu. According to Jean –Marie Reid, director of Dietary Services, the public will be served from the adjacent Sun Room as follows: Mondays to Fridays Breakfast — 7-10 a.m. (no grill service); Lunch — 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Dinner – 3-5 p.m.
It is anticipated that a newly renovated cafeteria will resume full service by late summer. “The planned improvements will mean better, more efficient service for our customers,” Reid said, explaining further that the menu will have a greater variety, service will be more efficient, on-duty hospital employees will have a dedicated cashier and the overall environment will promote greater customer friendliness. Regular dietary services for hospital patients will not be affected during the renovation work. “Our cafeteria has become a very popular dining room for our community,” she said, “so while we apologize for the temporary inconvenience, we will be pleased to show our appreciation with a greatly improved facility.”
