Phyliss Yvonne Acoy Dies in Philadelphia

Phyliss Yvonne Acoy Phyliss Yvonne Acoy of St. Croix died on March 20, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, after a long fight with cancer. She was 48 years old.

She leaves to mourn her loss herson, Nolly King Jr.; daughter, Ida Christina Skeritt; grandsons: Nolly King III, Issac Williams and Shaquan Benjamin; mothers: Christina Henry and Venneta Harrigan; grandfather, Stanley O’blige; daughter-in-law, Kyesha Benjamin; brothers: Alphonso Acoy Jr. and Stanley Acoy Sr.; sister, Stephanie Acoy- Williams; stepsister and stepbrother: Lorraine and Thomas Henry; nieces: Shalimar Cordice, Stanice, Mekaeda, Natahnah, Toveet, Nadiah, Queenzayanna, Shaphon, Emunniah, Shadiah, Shakinah Shamakah and Mekaeja; nephews: Craig Williams Jr., Abion, Obion, Zayvon, Stanley Jr., Yoehannie, Etahie, Sama, Yahallaham, Saeed, Matthew, Darnell Henry, Darian Martinez, Jahmal and Jahmeal Samuel; great niece, Myra Pierre; and great nephews: Darian Martinez Jr., Elijah Acoy, Obion Acoy Jr. and Jayden Acoy. She is also survived by aunts:Iris Acoy-Canton, Clarita Fenelon, Elenor Acoy, Dorthy Acoy and Eunice Acoy; uncles: Victor Murray, Lauritz, Hubert, Ira Acoy, Stanley and Tybe O’blige; brother-in-law andsisters–in-law: Craig Williams Sr., Valencia Acoy, Lisa Douglas and Chanukah Acoy; adopted nieces and nephews: Simba and Mayesha Parker, Solteresa Rivera and Jermaine Elston Rey; godchild, Akeem Richardson; and cousins: Sen. Celestino White and family, the Murray, O’blige, Horsford, Sentill, Bailey and Grant families. A going home service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 31, with viewing at 9 a.m. at Speak the Word Ministries in Peters Rest. Interment will follow at Kingshill Cemetery. Please wear festive colors to celebrate her life.
