Governor John P. de Jongh Jr. has proclaimed the month of March 2010 as Professional Social Work Month in the territory. Throughout the month, we recognize the many accomplishments of our professional social workers in their efforts to assist individuals and families to lead more productive and satisfying lives.
During times of difficulty and challenge, social workers utilize their specialized education and experience to guide individuals and families to improve their lives and the lives of loved ones. Their positive and compassionate efforts enable our community to be stronger and more resilient while ensuring access to basic rights, protections and opportunities.
Gov. de Jongh calls upon all Virgin Islanders to support our professional social workers and their outstanding efforts in the territory this month and throughout the year.
