UVICELL Offers Free SAT Program for Tenth Graders

The University of the Virgin Islands Community Engagement and Lifelong Learning (UVICELL) Center in partnership with Innovative Communications Corp. invites 10th grade students on St. Thomas and St. Croix to apply to a three-year Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) Preparatory Program. Launched in 2005, the SAT Program was designed to help V.I. public high school students improve their SAT scores and tracks student s’ progress from their sophomore through senior years. Classes will start on Jan. 9, 2010 and will be held 9 a.m. to noon on Saturdays. Sessions will be held on UVI’s St. Croix and St. Thomas campus. Applicants must be 10th-grade public high school students with GPAs of 2.0 to 3.5. An administrative fee of $20 is required at orientation.

Interested applicants must submit their applications to the UVICELL Center by Monday, Nov. 30, to be considered. Space is limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
