St. Croix Experiencing Island-Wide Power Outage

At approximately 7 p.m. Sunday night St. Croix was plunged into darkness. Glenn Rothgeb, Water and Power Authority executive director, could not say as of 45 minutes later exactly what had happened or how long the power was expected to be out.
"Several hours anyway," he said. "Personnel are on their way right now to find out what happened and start the process of restoring the power."
But he said customarily with an island-wide outage it takes hours to restore power.
